Margaret "Peggy" Clelland, a long time resident of Weyburn, died peacefully in Sechelt, BC, surrounded by her family, on Monday, September 22, 2014 at 91 years of age. Born in Maple Creek on March 15, 1923 to Albert and Elizabeth Hill, she is predeceased by her parents, her sisters Violet Hill and Dorie Ridley, her brothers George Hill and Walter Hill, her husband Jack Clelland, and her daughter Dodie McKechnie. She raised her children and cared for her grandchildren in Weyburn, also residing in Regina, Calgary, AB and Sechelt, BC to be near her family. Peggy made an impression on everyone she met with her kindness, her quick wit and her generosity. She was the glue that held her family together and her support and unconditional love for the people she cared about was never ending. She is survived by her sons Malcolm Clelland of Regina, Tom Clelland (Jen Woods) of Roberts Creek, BC, her daughter Jackie Rooney (John Rooney) of Vancouver, BC, her grandchildren Zoe Clelland of Seattle, WA, Janna Hollinger (Todd Hollinger) of Regina, Sarah Lind (Tygh Runyan) of Los Angeles, CA, Nicolette McKechnie (Benjamin Govan) of Leduc, AB, Khali Wenaus (Lindsey Bart) of Winnipeg, MB, Sean Lind of Vancouver, BC and her step granddaughter Nicole Mueller of Roberts Creek, BC. We would be remiss not to mention the non-humans she loved and who loved her: Cassie, Lenny, and her beloved companion for the last nine months, Baldy. A special thank you to Dr. Ron Mundy, the wonderful Home Care nurses, the gentle, caring staff at Home Care Services, the Sechelt EMTs and all her friends and extended family whose love and care buoyed her through these difficult final months and allowed us to care for her at home. A Celebration of Life was held on Thanksgiving weekend in Sechelt, BC. Peggy has requested that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the British Columbia Lung Association.
