Margaret Hoover (Nagy)

On Tuesday, June 21, 2016 Margaret passed away at the age of 88 in the Kelowna General Hospital, Kelowna, BC. She was predeceased by Dad (Glen) on October 7, 1999. She is survived by four daughters: Sandra, Guelph, ON; Debra (Ron) Kelowna, BC; Leslie, Toronto, ON; Nona (Wes), Kelowna, BC; her eight grandchildren and three great grandsons; her sisters Mary (Evan) Weyburn, and Barb (Wes) Swift Current. Mom was a strong independent woman who was never afraid of a challenge and would never give up until she found a solution. Her ability to work tirelessly, multitask as a homemaker as well as work on the farm while raising her four daughters was no small feat. She loved to travel, see the world and understand the 鈥渨hys鈥 in her life. She taught us the importance of family and the value of always striving to do our very best. While she liked her solitude, she loved family reunions, special birthday celebrations, grandchildren鈥檚 weddings or a day out on Okanagan Lake. As her grandchildren and then her great grandchildren began to bless her life you could feel the love and pride she felt as a mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Her legacy has been passed on to her daughters and their families as she leaves us; always to remember her and hold dear our memories of her. A graveside memorial service will be held at Hillcrest Cemetery on Saturday, July 2 at 1 pm with Rev. John Ferrier officiating. A reception will follow at the Weyburn Legion, Vimy Room. In lieu of flowers please make donations to Arthritis Society or Heart and Stroke Foundation.
