Lydia Beach, late of Weyburn, passed away July 4, 2014, at the age of 89 years. Lydia was predeceased by her parents: Arthur and Victoire Francis; husband Les Beach; son Norman (Joy) Beach; son-in-law Jeff Shiplett; grandson-in-law Dean Brisbourne. Lydia is survived by her children: Irene (Mike) Simkins; Sandra Balla; Oral Beach; Ella Shiplett; Richard Beach; 16 grandchildren: Michael, Kevin, Barbara, Wendy, Shelly, Shawna, Darla, Audra, Amanda, Tyler, Cassandra, Jordan, Janelle, Jason, Tanner, Brendon; several great-grandchildren; two sisters: Ina and Elsie; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, in-laws and friends. (Mary) Lydia Beach was born on March 23, 1925. She was raised in Gaspe, Quebec. During the war Lydia worked in an ammunitions factory in Valcartier. While living in Quebec City she met Leslie Beach in the spring of 1943 who was training with RCAF. They married later that year on October 20. Lydia and Leslie travelled to Saskatchewan by train arriving on Christmas Day. Leslie left for overseas late January 1944 and didn't return until December of that year. During the time that Leslie was gone Lydia lived with her in-laws and was expecting their first born, Norman in July. Les and Lydia stayed on the family farm where they raised their six children: Norman, Irene, Sandra, Oral, Ella and Richard. Lydia moved to Weyburn in 1993 after the passing of Les. During her life Lydia loved and served the Lord with all her heart and taught her children to do the same. Viewing for Lydia was held on Tuesday, July 8 from 7:00 to 9:00 pm at RD Family Funeral Chapel, Weyburn. A Funeral Service for Lydia was held on Wednesday, July 9 at 11:00 am from Weyburn Free Methodist Church, Weyburn with Pastor Ed Fisher, officiating. Interment was at Hillcrest Cemetery, Weyburn. Pallbearers were Jordan Shiplett, Jason Shiplett, Tanner Beach, Brendon Beach and Keith Stack.
