She was predeceased by her husband of 55 years, Albert Lloyd Sherlock; her parents Ahiyah and Sylvia Lawrence; brothers Dallas, Larry, Kyle and Lanny; sister Patricia (Alf) Hesjedal. Lowaine will be missed by her daughters Valerie (Terry) Fister; Glenda (Gary) Shaver; Gwen (Doug) Johnston; Naomi (Ross) Cleveland as well as ten grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren; brothers Ivan (Alice) Lawrence, Arnold (Esther) Lawrence, Wallace Lawrence; sister Stella (Jeff) Rood; sister-in-law Doris Lawrence, as well as many nieces and nephews. Lowaine was born November 1, 1929 in Bengough Sask. She was the fourth child of ten. She grew up in Harptree and completed her grade 11 in Muddy View School. On November 12, 1948 she married Albert Sherlock. Lowaine learned good work ethics at the Lawrence farm and she applied this to her home and family. She helped with farm chores, grew a garden and raised four daughters. She wasn鈥檛 only devoted to raising her girls but when needed would lend a helpful hand to extended family. Lowaine attended church as often has she could as her faith was important to her. In her earlier years she enjoyed track and field as well as playing softball. Lowaine continued to play softball and later took up curling. Rodeos were a fun source of entertainment. Staying up late to watch live rodeo events on television was very enjoyable for her. (Mom never missed a score. Ha ha.) She had a great love of music, whether it was a trip to Craven for the Jamboree or just singing with family. Grandchildren were so special to her. You could find her reading stories, singing, walking in the hills or attending as many of their sporting events as she could. She loved to just spend time with them. Lowaine enjoyed her friends and neighbours in the Harptree District. She didn鈥檛 鈥渃offee鈥 often but had some very dear friends in the community. When diagnosed with Parkinson鈥檚 in the 90鈥檚 she was dealt a difficult path. She was able to stay on the farm until 2006 at which time she moved to the Villa in Bengough. As the Parkinson鈥檚 progressed, long-term care was needed and she moved to the Bengough Health Centre where she stayed until her passing. Lowaine鈥檚 Celebration of Life was held August 11, 2016, officiated by John Smith. Interment was in Harptree Cemetery. Donations in Memory of Lowaine were gratefully accepted for the Bengough Health Centre Ladies Auxiliary. Arrangements entrusted to Ross Funeral Service, Assiniboia, SK.
