Lois Irene Fish, 87, passed away peacefully on the evening of March 11, with her beloved daughter Lorna by her side. Lois is predeceased by her sisters Gladys Fenwick, Flossie Pederson, Alice Vestby, Myrtle Evans; and her loving husband William Cecil Fish. Lois was born to parents Charles and Elsie Rodine on December 11, 1925 in Hume. She was the youngest of five siblings. Lois attended school in Hume and completed her Grade 12 by correspondence. She acquired her first job working for farming families by tending to their children, along with household duties and lending a hand during harvest season. Lois moved to Weyburn where she continued work for a family which had little girls to whom she was the caregiver for. Lois was an active member of the Salvation Army Church; she met her husband at a social function and they were then to be married on May 3, 1946. After being married and starting a family of her own, Lois also took in borders and welfare children until they were adopted by other families. Lois is survived by her three children; Lorna Katschke, Dale Fish and Terry Fish. Her grandchildren; Aaron Katschke, Jason Katschke, Lindsay Katschke, Amanda Katschke, Chelsea Fish, Shelby Fish, Ariel Chessall and Matthew Blackmer-Thompson; and great grandchildren; Beau Sletten-Katschke, Tatianna Sletten-Katschke, Azrael Katschke and Taylor Fish as well as several nieces and nephews. A Celebration of Her Life was held on Friday, March 15 at 2:00 p.m. from Salvation Army Corps, Weyburn with Lt. Mike Mailman and Lt. Melissa Mailman, officiating. A private family interment was held at Green Acres Memorial Gardens, Weyburn. Arrangements were entrusted to RD Family Funeral Chapel & Crematorium, Weyburn, as well as the Salvation Army Officers, Mike and Melissa Mailman.
