Lloyd Oliver Fisher passed away on May 2, 2013. Lloyd was born on February 10, 1933 in Abbey to Jim and Adelia Fisher. He attended school in Lancer until the age of 11. In 1944 Jim and Adelia moved to Weyburn to farm with his family, Lloyd was 12 years old at that time. When Lloyd was in Grade 10 he attended Luther College for a short time. He did not care for it and moved to Lancer to live with his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Whitey Symington. After completing Grade 10 Lloyd returned to Weyburn and tried his hand at trucking and then decided he was going to be a mechanic. He worked for Harvey Horsborough at Barber Motors in Weyburn and later continued in Estevan as a heavy duty mechanic. It was in Estevan that Lloyd met and married the love of his life, Doreen Davenport. Not long after meeting Doreen, Lloyd asked for her hand in marriage. They were married on September 20, 1958. Not long after they were married Lloyd transferred with Saskatchewan Power and they moved to Regina. Together they had three children, Lynne, Deanna and Darrel. In 1972, Lloyd and Doreen moved back to Weyburn and purchased a beautiful home. Lloyd continued to work at Saskatchewan Power until his retirement. Not long after, Doreen became ill and was diagnosed with cancer. She passed away in 1987, after a difficult, hard fought battle. After the death of his wife, Lloyd found it a struggle to live on his own and was fortunate to find a new partner, Theresia Carter. Following his retirement Lloyd continued to farm for a short time but it became too much for him and he decided to rent out the land. Lloyd and Theresia soon sold the home on Tom Hart Drive and purchased a condo in Weyburn. After several good years of living together in the condo, Lloyd suffered several minor strokes. It became increasingly difficult for Theresia to care for Lloyd and he moved into Tatagwa View. Theresia remained living in the condo but soon found it difficult on her own and was forced to take up residence in the Radville Marion Health Centre. Theresia passed away peacefully in November of 2012. Lloyd remained in Tatagwa View but his health became progressively worse until he passed away peacefully on May 2, 2013. Lloyd will be sadly missed by his son, Darrel (Brenda) Fisher and their children, Kelsey Cook (Shelby), Erin, Jeremy and Bella Fisher; daughter, Deanna (Glenn) Loffler and their children, Mathew (Kelsey), Daniel (Kelsey) and Steven Loffler; daughter, Lynne (Yvon) Fouillard and their children, Patricia (Ryan) Ross, Michael James, Mellissa (Chad) Edbom, Amanda, Adrien, Remi, Miguel, Evan and Jerome Fouillard; 10 great grandchildren; brother, Lorne (Deena) Fisher; sister-in-law, Myrna (Gerry) Urlacher; brothers-in-law, Martin (Linda) Davenport, Dennis (Linda) Davenport, John Denouden (Rose) as well as numerous other relatives and friends.
