Lloyd Cecil Hart late Fillmore, born April 18, 1926 passed away on the 20th of September at the age of 86 years. Lloyd was predeceased by his mother, Elsie in 1943, step-mother, Esther in 1980, father, Fred in 1981, brother, Elmer in 2003 and his sister-in-law, Wanda in 2009. Lloyd was born, the eldest of three boys, to Fred and Elsie Hart on April 18, 1926 at Huronville. He grew up in the Huronville District and attended Downing Country School to the end of Grade 10. On October 23, 1954 Lloyd married Florence Krieger at the Weyburn Lutheran Church and the reception followed at the Hostess Club. They spent most of their life farming in the Fillmore District where they raised their family of three, Brad, Cam and Glenda. In 1975 Lloyd and Florence left the farm, moving into Fillmore. For the first year they rented the home they lived in, then decided to purchase the house formerly owned by Herb Ast on the south end of town near the Catholic church. Lloyd enjoyed playing cards and cribbage and spent many happy hours playing cards with his cronies at the drop-in. He faithfully walked down to "coffee row" twice a day come rain or shine. Lloyd was a member of the Huronville United Church until transferring to Fillmore Grace United Church where he served on the Board of Stewards. He was an active member of the community and was involved as a senior hockey executive, with minor sports, curling club, Boy Scouts, the Liberal Party, Oddfellow Lodge, Home and School Board, Village Council, United Grain Growers, Fillmore Housing Authority, just to mention a few. He loved to attend conventions and meetings and was very faithful to all of his commitments. Lloyd and Florence continued to live there until moving into a Housing Authority suite from the fall of 2006 until the time when he moved to the Weyburn Special Care Home in November of 2010. Lloyd was very happy at Weyburn Special Care Home. He enjoyed the staff, his room and the other residents at Weyburn Special Care Home. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Florence; children: Brad (Sue), Cam (Judy) and Glenda (Dave) Lange; grandchildren: Mitchell and Brianna Lange and Caitlin and Bailey Hart; special niece, Pat Robertson; brother, Ivan (Alverna);sister-in-law, Donna Schadtas well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Lloyd was always a farmer with an intense love for Fillmore and a great pride in his community. He was a great family man, was extremely proud of his child and grandchildren. A Memorial Service was held on Friday, September 28 at 2:00 PM from the Fillmore Grace United Church, Fillmore with Ann White officiating. Interment took place at Fillmore Cemetery, Fillmore.
