They then moved three miles east of Ken's parents to land purchased from Norman House, which became their home to raise a family and Ken's final resting place. He had worked in Calgary, AB for a number of years before returning to Saskatchewan to farm with his father and brothers. When Ken wasn't in the field, he was enjoying hunting and fishing. Snowmobiling and ice fishing in the winter as well as restoring older vehicles and building ice fishing shacks. He was very proud of his son, James and daughter, Deana for graduating high school and excelling in their choosen career's. Ken's last year was truly spent living. He was able to go on two big game hunts that ended successfully both times with elk coming home. A wonderful mild winter allowed Ken to spend nearly all winter ice fishing at his shack, where friends visited and fished with him. He was well enough to help James with seeding the crops for the season as well as harvest too, but of course spent July and August at Moosomin, fishing on the pontoon boat and camping with family and friends. Ken passed away on Wednesday, October 10, 2012 at the age of 64 years.
