Katherine (Kay) Leier nee Vollman, late of Swift Current and formerly of Sedley, passed away peacefully with family by her side, at the age of 89. Predeceased by her husband John, daughter Sylvia, grandchildren Gregory and Jamie Leier and Stephen Jacob, her parents Phillip and Petronella Vollman, brothers John, Martin, George, Henry Vollman; sisters Monica Matt and Amelia Lindenbach. She will be missed by her children Myrna (Ed) Jacob, Weyburn, George (Dolores) Leier, Regina, Gary (Gail) Leier, Swift Current, Julianna (Pat Hayduk), Saskatoon, Kathleen (Ken Mattice), Swift Current; Grandchildren Lisa (Wes) Cugnet, Jeff (Ingrid) Leier, Pamela Leier, Kama (Ron Leray) Leier, Kara (Sid) Misra, Andrew (Amanda Werezak) Deis, Robert (Amanda) Deis, Kevin (Dawn) Buchanan, Kimberly (Ben) Demery, Vicki (Steve) Roberts: Great grandchildren Christopher (Renee Sidloski) Cugnet, John Cugnet, Calli Cugnet, Devon Jacob, Lindsay Jacob, Samuel Leier, Olivia Leier, Kyran Misra, Owen and Tyler Deis, Seth and Justin Deis, Jaden, Troy, Ridley, Keiles, Jadzia and Wesley Buchanan, Charles and Lily Roberts; three sisters-in-law Olive Wyand, Irene Vollman & Clara Vollman; three special in-law friends Jeanie Leier and Frank and Barbara Leier; many nieces and nephews, in-laws and friends. Kay and John spent their years together farming at Sedley and she was known for her endless pots of coffee, cookies and cakes to snack on, and there was always enough food at mealtime to feed many more people. A Funeral Liturgy in celebration of Kay's life was held Thursday, October 25, at 3:00 p.m. at Victoria Avenue Funeral Home, 2080 Victoria Avenue East, Regina with Father Louis Abello officiating. Interment will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Sedley Memorial Fund.
