Julianna Hofseth, late of Weyburn, passed away Saturday September 22, 2012, at the age of 84 years. Julianna was predeceased by her beloved husband, Ingmar Hofseth; father, Joseph Illes; mother, Agnes Illes; infant brother, Arthur (1948); brother-in-law, Dave Olson; three sisters-in-law: Gail Illes, Carol Illes and Yolanda Illes. Julianna is survived by her three loving sons: Garry (Jean) Hofseth, Bengough, SK, Neil (Donna) Hofseth, Sundre, AB, Wade (Phyllis) Hofseth, Regina, SK; eight brothers and sisters: Joe (Carmen) Illes, Quetzaltenan, Guatemala, Ethel Olsen, Weyburn, Anne (Lorne) Vosper, Moose Jaw, Frank (Ruby) Illes, Salmon Arm, BC, John Illes, Lloydminster, AB, Mary (Alvin) Maiers, Kelowna, BC, Esther (Irvine) Gruenke, BarrHead, AB, Dave (Maureen) Illes, Obregon, Mexico; 11 grandchildren; nine great grandchildren as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Julianna Hofseth was born on November 23, 1927 in Skorenovaci, Yugoslavia. In 1928, her father Joseph Illes came to Canada working as a labourer and bought a homestead in Saskatchewan in 1929. Julianna and her mother Agnes came to Canada in 1930. They arrived in Canada in July, travelling west by train to Hardy. In the early 1940's, she took on a study of the Bible and became one of Jehovah's Witnesses in 1942. In 1948, she then married Ingmar Hofseth and they resided in Beaubier, where they farmed and raised their three sons, Garry, Neil and Wade. In her retirement years they settled in Weyburn. Julianna loved and enjoyed cooking, gardening, sewing, quilting and travelling. Julianna was loved and will be sadly missed by all of her family and friends. A Service of Remembrance for Julianna was held Saturday, September 29, at 2:30 p.m. from Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, Weyburn, with Mr. Arnold Kozak, officiating. Lunch was held following the Service at Captain's Hall, 122-4th Street N.E., Weyburn. A private family interment was held at Beaubier Cemetery. For family and friends so wishing, donations in memory of Julianna may be made to the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 1815-1st Ave NE, Weyburn, SK S4H 0A1 or to a Charity of Choice.
