John Ernest "Jack" Moffat, late of Weyburn passed away Thursday, May 3, 2012 at the age of 60 years. Jack was born April 16, 1952 in Arcola to Jim and Marge Moffat. Jack spent his early years growing up on the family farm west of Kisbey until his parents moved the family into the town of Kisbey. He attended Elementary School in Kisbey and later High School in Arcola. From a very young age Jack was a good athlete. He participated in baseball, football, hockey and curling. He played Senior Hockey for the Arcola-Kisbey Combines, hardball for the Kisbey Diamonds and curled at the Weyburn Curling Club for both men's and mixed leagues. In the early 70's Jack moved to Weyburn and began his career as a journeyman plumber working at Weyburn Sheet Metal and later opening his own business, Tap-It Plumbing and Heating. Jack also spent 25 years working for the Sun Country Health Region as a plumber. In his free time he enjoyed many outdoor activites such as hunting with his buddies for many years, also fishing and quading. Jack also enjoyed his time spent at McBride Lake with family and friends. He spent many great hours there fishing and quading with his children and grandchildren. Jack was predeceased by his parents, Jim and Marge Moffat. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Jan of Weyburn; children, Lynne Davis of Airdrie, AB, Jeff (Rhonda) Cook of Wainwright, AB and Jason (Shenelle) Cook of Yorkton; grandchildren, Brent, Samantha, Brady, Zoe, Shayda, Jacob and Jaxon. Visitation was held on Sunday, May 6 from 7:00 to 9:00 pm at Fletcher Funeral Chapel Weyburn. The funeral service was held Monday, May 7 at 2:00 pm from Grace United Church Weyburn with Reverend M. Barnabas officiating. Pallbearers were Bob Milligan, Glenn Tollefson, Brian Maas, Larry Tribiger, Harry Plemel and Ivan Olson. Honourary pallbearers were Mike Hembroff and Vic Tremblay. Interment took place at Hillcrest Cemetery, Weyburn. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Jack may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
