Gladys Emily Baxter, late of Weyburn, passed away peacefully June 19, 2014, at the age of 101 years while residing at Tatagwa View, Weyburn. Gladys was predeceased by her parents: Charles and Emily Cottrell; husband Bernard (1960); son Bernie; great grandson Cody; four brothers; one sister; son-in-law Wally Safnuk. Gladys is survived by her children: Mary Safnuk, Weyburn, and her family: Terry (Jill) and their family [Haley, Jacey and Calli], Marilyn (Guy) Mabee and daughter [Kimberley], Tania (Darcy) MacDonald, Gloria (Cliff) Mason, White Rock, BC, and their family: Marda (Jeff) Keen and daughters [Lexi and Lauren], Todd (Jane) and their family [Tate (Valeriea) and Claire], Luke, Taylor, Jodi Sigsworth and her family [Chad and Megan], Jim (Edith) Baxter, Mississauga, ON, and their family: Wade (Heather) Baxter and their family [Sean and James], Corey, Sherrill (Larry) Taylor, Weyburn, and their family: Shannon (Jamie) Geiger and their son [Karston], Amanda (Joe) Kaufmann and their family [Colby, Gabriel, Lucas and Cain]; sister-in-law Myrtle Cottrell, Edmonton; as numerous nieces and nephews. Gladys was born in England, May 26, 1913 and immigrated with her family to Paradise Valley, Alberta in 1925. She resided in several different communities on the Prairies, spending her last 45 years in Weyburn. A service of remembrance for Gladys was held on Tuesday, June 24 at 1:00 p.m. from RD Family Funeral Chapel, Weyburn, with Martin Olson, officiating. Interment to be held at a later date in Paradise Valley, AB.
