George Schmidt passed away suddenly at his home on August 5, 2013 at the age of 90 years. George was predeceased by his parents, Jacob and Wilhelmina Schmidt; wife, Phyllis Schmidt; daughters, Sandra Schmidt and Judy Honig and brothers and sisters, Ernie, Freda, Caroline, Jake and John. George will be lovingly remembered by his son, Don (Randie) and their children, Sylar, Keefe, Terrence and Bowdrie; son, Evan (Sheri) and their children, Allie and Jacob; Evan's children, Curt (Candace) Schmidt and Shelby Rowland; son, David (Serene) and their children, Jody and Kathryn; son-in-law, John Honig and his children, Pat (Allison), Christine, Catherine and Matt (Rachel); Sandra's children, Cheyanne Toto, Brendan Toto and Shawna Tanner and brothers and sisters, Wilhelmina, Adele, Hilda, Herald and Helen as well as many great grandchildren. A Memorial Service was held on Tuesday, August 13 at 2:00 PM from the Ogema Abundant Living Church in Ogema, with Pastor Gary Penner officiating. Interment took place at the Ogema Cemetery, Ogema.
