Garry Wayne McKenzie was born at home on April 12, 1950 to Philip and Elva McKenzie of Florence, Ontario and passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 28, 2016 at the age of 66 years at the Weyburn General Hospital. Garry was predeceased by his parents, Philip and Elva Mckenzie; grandparents, William and Margaret McKenzie and John and Margaret Dalgliesh as well as many aunts, uncles and cousins. Garry will be lovingly remembered by his sister, Margaret (Morris) Korol of Saskatoon; sister, Shirley (Gary) Kerr of Moose Jaw; brother, Alvin (Sherry) McKenzie of Moose Jaw; seven nieces and nephews: Annette Loff (John), Sheri (Pat) Horbay, Shawn (Lisa) Kerr, Cory (Brenda) Kerr, Kinda (James) Woidyla, Curtis (Sherie) McKenzie and Kayla (Jordan) Leduc; nine great nieces and nephews; one great-great niece, Uncle George Robertson as well as numerous cousins. At the age of ten Garry moved with his family from Ontario to Eyebrow and then Tuxford, before settling in Weyburn. Garry remained living in Weyburn until his passing. He was a carpenter by trade and made many beautiful pieces of woodwork. Garry also built two homes for himself as well as furniture and knickknacks. Garry loved travelling and spending time with his family and all his nieces and nephews. He had many friends and awesome neighbours and will be greatly missed by all. The family would like to thank all who took great care of him during his struggle with cancer and thank you to Dr. J. Grosenick who lit up his eyes when she came to see him!! A Memorial Service was held Tuesday, January 3, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. from Fletcher Funeral Chapel, Weyburn, with Reverend John Ferrier officiating. Interment will follow at Green Acres Memorial Gardens, Weyburn. Donations in memory of Garry may be made to the Weyburn Kinsmen Club. Condolences may be left at: www.fletcherfuneralchapel.com.
