It is with great sadness we announce the passing of our treasured mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Florence Marguerite Mackey. Florence was born Feb. 8, 1925 in Unity, SK and then moved to the Colgate area where she married Art Mackey (1942) and raised their two daughters Gail and Lynda. In 1965, Florence and Art moved to Weyburn and continued to call Weyburn their home for the rest of their years. Florence lost Art in 2004 and Gail in 2010 but continues to be remembered by her daughter Lynda (Barrie), son-in-law Bill, grandchildren Corrie (Asad), Scott (Evelyn), Bart (Cheryll) and Shannon (Norm), and great-grandchildren Sydney, Nolan, Spencer, Coleman, Tanner, Brad, Levi and Josh. Florence loved all kinds of music and all kinds of handiwork. Her family was very important to her and she enjoyed visiting, playing cards and cooking. She always wanted to learn and was interested in technology and the Blue Jays. Grandma will be forever loved and missed. A Service of Remembrance for Florence was held Thursday, September 1, at 11:00 am from RD Family Funeral Chapel, Weyburn, SK with Judy Beck officiating. Lunch was held at RD Family Funeral Chapel, Weyburn, with interment taking place at Green Acres Memorial Gardens, Weyburn. For family and friends so wishing, charitable donations in memory of Florence may be made to the Saskatchewan Band Association, Box 2076, Swift Current, SK, S9H 4V1.
