It is with great sadness to announce the passing of Ernest Albert Elder of Weyburn on Wednesday, June 8, 2016. Ernest is survived by his wife Lorraine and son Terry, (Elizabeth) and family; sister, Francine Ormiston, nieces Mary-Ann (Irvin) Carson, Norma Jean Angus, Heather (Bruce) Horsman and families; sister-in-law Donnett Elder, nieces and nephews Renae (Jeff) Grubb, Janell Elder, Joel (Nicole) Elder, Randra-Rae (Dorian) Tyndale and Jonathan Elder and families. Ernest is predeceased by daughters, Gail and Karen, brother Harry-Jae, and parents Howard and Gretta, brother-in-law Jim Ormiston, father-in-law Bob (Irene) Middleton. Ernest was born and raised on the farm in Fillmore. He married Lorraine April 12, 1956. They raised their three children on their farm near Fillmore. In later years they moved to Weyburn. Ernest was involved in various community projects. Over the years their family enjoyed travelling. Ernest and Lorraine celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary this year. A Service of Remembrance for Ernest was held at Grace United Church on Monday, June 13, at 2:00 pm with Sharon Elliott officiating. All in attendance were honorary pallbearers. Interment was held at Fillmore Cemetery. Arrangements were entrusted to RD Family Funeral Chapel & Crematorium, Weyburn (306-848-0333 ~ 1-888-848-0333).
