Elizabeth "Louise" Martin, late of Weyburn passed away peacefully July 14, 2012, at the age of 85 years. Louise was predeceased by her parents, Anna and Fred Meyers; her husband, Frank Martin; her youngest brother, Arthur Meyers. Louise is survived by her children: Francis (Shirley) Martin, Regina, Ronald (Janelle) Martin, Redvers, Rose Anna (Bob) 0'Connor, Stoughton, Belinda (Lawrence) Morrissette, Weyburn, Keith (Charlene) Martin, High Prairie, AB, 17 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren; her sisters: Toni (Alf) Lewis, Calgary, AB, Freida (Henry) Larose, Calgary, AB, Lil Christian, Regina, Rosemarie (Peter) Walter, Okotoks, AB, Lorrie (Dave) McCutcheon, Ceylon; her brothers: Fred Meyers, Minton, Al (Karen) Meyers, Swift Current, Richard (Dorothy) Meyers, Minton, along with numerous nieces and nephews. Pallbearers were her grandchildren: Calvin Martin, Dakota Martin, Kevin Martin, Kathleen O'Connor, Reuben Martin, Spencer Morrissette. Louise was born at Gladmar. She was the second child of 10 children, so she helped out a lot with her younger brothers and sisters. She was an excellent, self-taught seamstress, so she sewed a lot of their clothes. She also made her children's clothes. Some of her other talents were quilting, knitting, crocheting, and she did many crafts. Louise married Frank Martin on October 28, 1948. In 1953 they moved to a farm by Redvers. They grain farmed and raised cattle, pigs and chickens, and always had a huge garden. They also raised five children. Frank passed away June 16, 1993. In 1996 Louise moved to Weyburn where she was active in her church and did volunteer work up until the time that she went into the nursing home in 2009. A funeral service was held on July 20 at 10:00 am at St. Vincent de Paul Roman Catholic Church, Weyburn with Father Gerry Bauche officiating. Interment was at Redvers Town Cemetery, July 20 at 3:00 pm with Father Clement Nwankwo officiating. For family and friends so wishing, donations in memory of Louise may be made to a charity of choice. Arrangements were entrusted to RD Family Funeral Chapel & Crematorium (306) 848-0333.
