With loving memories we announce the passing of Eleanore Roy, on January 7, 2016, at the age of 86. She was predeceased by her husband, Reneaud Roy, in July 2014 and their premature twin boys (1956). Eleanore was born, April 11, 1929 in Bengough. She was the ninth child, of 12, born to Lena and Clemente Popescul. Eleanore had many fond memories of growing up on the family farm near Kayville. Eleanore attended high school in Regina at Scott Collegiate. She graduated grade 12 in June of 1947, took an eight week teacher’s training course at ‘Normal School.’ She began teaching that September. While teaching in Glentworth, mom met Reneaud and they were married in Moose Jaw, on December, 17, 1953. Mom and Dad moved to the farm near Griffin in the spring of 1954. They farmed there for the next 40 years and raised their three children, Maurice, Marcel and Colette. Mom was always a gracious host and our home was always open to relatives, cousins, grandchildren and neighbors. After retiring from the farm life, mom had time to enjoy playing cards at the Weyburn Wheatland Seniors Centre. Mom moved to the Crocus Plains Care Home in the spring of 2014, to be closer to her husband Reneaud. Eleanore is survived by her children, Maurice (Colleen) Roy of Weyburn; Marcel Roy of Weyburn; Colette (Leroy) Roy Krueger of Fort St. John, BC; grandchildren, Jason (Chrissy) Roy, Tamara Roy (Kristi), Aiden Roy, Alex (Veronica) Roy, Richard (Melinda) Roy, Preston (Brittany) Roy, Josh Krueger, Adam Krueger; great grandchildren, Brennan, Bailey, Lexington, Victoria, and Everett; sisters, Marie Medwid and Doris (Peter) Yakimishyn; brother, Connie (Lena) Popescul, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Our family wishes to thank the doctors and nurses at the Regina General Hospital (MICU unit), Weyburn General Hospital, Sun Country Ambulance Service and Crocus Plains Care Home for their kind and compassionate care of our Mother. Visitation was held on Tuesday, January 12, from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Fletcher Funeral Chapel. The Funeral Service was held Wednesday, January 13, at 1:00 p.m. from Fletcher Funeral Chapel, Weyburn, with Father Gerry Bauche presiding. Interment followed at Green Acres Memorial Gardens, Weyburn. Active Pallbearers were Richard Roy, Preston Roy, Jason Roy, Tamara Roy, Aiden Roy and Josh Krueger.
