It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Elaine Iris Knibbs, late of Weyburn, passed on August 22, 2014, at the age of 73 years. Elaine is predeceased by her parents Homer and Bernice Dupuis; sister Faye Peters; granddaughter Brittany McCullough; son-in-law Doug McCullough and her father-in-law, Leonard Knibbs. Elaine is survived by her husband Medford; her children: Kathy, Kenny, Marty (Shelley), Kelly (Val) and Gary (Alynne); grandchildren: Lisa (Nay), Jeff, Kalie (Paul), Tanlon and Cody (Afton); great grandchildren: Tanisha, Kelsey and Kira; mother-in-law, Clara Knibbs; brothers: Earl (Delores) Dupuis, Wayne (Vera) Dupuis; brother-in-law, Les (Donna) Knibbs and sister-in-law, Doreen Knibbs as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Elaine married the love of her life Medford Knibbs on November 23, 1957. They farmed together in the Huntoon area for 45 years. During this time they welcomed five children; daughter Kathy, son Kenny, son Marty, son Kelly and son Gary. Elaine was an active part of farming, driving truck when needed, hauling meals to the field during harvest and caring for her huge yard. Her flower beds were extensive and incredibly beautiful. Her gardens were enormous and provided well for the family during winter. She also drove school bus for a few years. Elaine loved to quilt, her family is lucky enough to have many samples of her handy work. Crocheting and knitting were also favorite past times. She found it difficult to walk past fabric or yarn without finding something to bring home. She absolutely adored her grandchildren Lisa, Jeff, Kalie Tanlon, Cody and her great grandchildren Tanisha, Kelsey and Kira. In her eyes they could do no wrong. She was a kind and caring person with many friends. Prayers for Elaine were held on Monday, August 25 at 7:00 p.m. from St. Vincent de Paul Roman Catholic Church. A Mass of Christian Burial for Elaine was held on Tuesday, August 26 at 10:30 am from St. Vincent de Paul Roman Catholic Church, Weyburn with Father Gerry Bauche, celebrant.
