Edward “Ted” David Heath passed away peacefully Monday, February 6, 2017 at the age of 72 years. Ted was predeceased by his parents, Griffith and Irene (May) Heath; aunt, Gladys Heath and uncle, Alec Heath; infant grandson, Oaklen Omoth; the mothers of his children, Faye Bell and Linda Jones. He was born August 11, 1944 and was adopted and raised by his parents. Ted often told his own children years later that his parents said he was more special than any other child because he was specifically chosen from a room full of children. They lived in Regina in the late 50’s and when Griffith died in 1962 they moved back to Pangman to the family farm. Ted married Linda Culling and they had a son, Dwayne. Ted and Dwayne had a very special father/son bond. They shared a love of old cars, farming and caring for the cattle. Following his marriage to Linda, Ted met Faye Bell. She had two boys named Brett and Reid and Ted raised them as his own. Not long after Ted and Faye met, Amber came into their lives. Ted and Amber were as close as a father and daughter can and had a very special relationship. They eventually moved out to the farm and raised commercial cows and farmed about 1500 acres of land. Ted was a farmer at heart and had a love for animals. In 2001 Ted’s daughter, Dana, came into his life. She had been adopted at a young age but she went looking for him and was later reunited with Ted and his family. It was an incredible experience. Shortly after meeting Dana and her family, Ted required heart surgery. He recovered well but moved off the farm into Pangman for the following years. It was after Ted’s heart surgery that the roles changed and Amber became the “parent” with Ted requiring the care. Ted was a jokester and a social butterfly. He had a lot of fun teasing people and was a daily visitor at the Oasis and cafe for coffee. When Faye died in 2008 it was hard on the entire family and Ted was good at making sure everyone talked and shared memories of their life together. We are grateful to the community of Pangman who helped endlessly to keep Ted in his house in Pangman. They came together and helped our family take care of him. Ted loved being in Pangman and because of the people of Pangman he was able to live out his entire life in the community that he loved. Ted will be lovingly remembered by his daughter, Amber (Brandon) Omoth of Weyburn, and children, Sawyer and Lincoln; son, Dwayne Heath of Weyburn; son, Brett Arnott (Jenna Ganje) of Weyburn; son, Reid Arnott (Kelsey Giroux) of Weyburn, and children, Halle and Harper; daughter, Dana (Colin) Wielenga of Abbottsford, BC and children, Solomon and Joshua; his many friends from the community of Pangman as well as his best friend “Tikka.” A Memorial Service was held Saturday, March 18, at 2:00 p.m. from the Pangman School Gymnasium, with Father Stephen Bill officiating. Active Pallbearers were Garth Kaufmann, Lloyd Lillejord, Ryan Bell, Jason Zieg, Murray Schneikart and Grant Kaufmann. Interment will take place at a later date. Donations in memory of Ted may be made to the Deep 鶹Ƶ Personal Care Home or the Weyburn Humane Society. Condolences may be left at: www.fletcherfuneralchapel.com.
