Late of Regina and formerly of Weyburn. Jean was predeceased by her parents, Alex and Muriel Tait; her first husband, Lee Bowden and her brother, Bill Tait. Jean will be lovingly remembered by her second husband, Carol Hingtgen; sister, Helen Jackson and her children, Jim, Barry (Charity) and Debbie and their families; sisters-in-law Linda Tait and her sons, Stuart and Kelly (Adrienne) and their families; Ida Hingtgen and Jeannie Flichel and their families. Step-children, Jim (Sharon) Hingtgen, Wayne Hingtgen, Shirley (Greg) Barry and their families; great aunt Paula Brigden and her family as well as many cousins and friends. Jean enjoyed camping with Dad (Carol) and experienced many different campgrounds which then they would inform us of the ones they like and the ones they wouldn’t go back to so that we knew of the ones to avoid when we started camping. After a few years, they sold the motorhome and bought a cabin at White Bear Lake. In the years that Jean and Dad had the cabin, once it was warm enough to be at the cabin, that is where you would find them until it got too cold in the fall to stay at the cabin. Jean was an avid Saskatchewan Roughrider fan and in turn, Dad started watching the games too. Both of them enjoyed watching any curling game on TV, in fact there were different times when I would call and the conversation was short and sweet because there happened to be a curling game on that they were watching at the time. Dad loves to watch baseball, so in turn, Jean started watching the games with him on TV. During the winter months, Jean used to like to knit or read a good book, I think though this was to be able to stay awake when the TV was on, because otherwise she would usually fall asleep about 15 minutes into whatever they happened to be watching. Jean loved visiting with family and friends, in fact, it was Jean and my cousin, Lola Hingtgen, to organize the first Hingtgen family reunion. Since that first reunion, there have been five more reunions, with the last one being this past August which Jean was unable to attend due to her deteriorating health. May she now rest at peace. Written by Shirley Barry. A Celebration of Life was held Monday, December 15 at 11:00 am at the Royal Canadian Legion, Weyburn with Reverend John Ferrier officiating. Interment was at Arcola Cemetery, Arcola. Donations in memory of Jean may be made to Allan Blair Cancer Center or to the Lung Association of Saskatchewan.
