Dorothy Davis, late of Weyburn, passed away peacefully on August 15, 2012, in the Weyburn General Hospital at the age of 81 years. Dorothy was born in Assiniboia on November 1, 1931. Later she moved to Yellow Grass where she and her husband farmed for a number of years. They then moved to Weyburn where Dorothy pursued a career in nursing. Dorothy was an avid gardener and spent many hours outdoors tending her plants. Dorothy was predeceased by her father Horace Howlett, mother Ruth, sister Connie and brother Robert Howlett. Dorothy will be sadly missed by her children Karil (Paul) Carruthers, Kevin (Heather) Davis, Lori (Miles) Snelling, her brothers Howard and Kenneth Howlett, sisters-in-law Helen and June, grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews and her many friends. A funeral service was held on Tuesday, August 21 at 10:00 am at RD Family Funeral Chapel, Weyburn with Rev. Ernie Metz officiating. A private interment will follow at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Dorothy may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
