Doreen Karlson (Kosier)

With much sorrow and sadness, we announce the passing of our mother, Doreen Karlson (Kosier) on May 23, 2013 at the age of 66. Born on November 6, 1946 in Regina, she is predeceased by her parents, John and Phyllis Kosior and her daughter, Debbie Kosior. She is survived by her loving daughters, Le Anne Welburn, Weyburn; Wanda Snow, Winnipeg; loyal sons-in-law, Michael Welburn and Scott Snow; granddaughters, Jordan and Brooke Snow; sisters Joan (Wayne) Drouillard-Honig, Weyburn; Donna (Edd) Patenaude, Edmonton, AB; Brenda (John) Evans, Edmonton, AB; Louise Edwards, BC; brothers Curt (Jan) Kosior, Lacombe, AB; and Steve Short, Calgary, AB. Doreen lived in Weyburn for over 60 years, where she raised her family with pride and devotion. She overcame many, many obstacles in her life with grace, courage, and unwavering strength. Her faith in her family and in something more divine than us guided her always. By her example, she taught us to love without fear, forgive without resentment, stand loyal to those you love, no matter what, and have compassion for others, as you have no idea what path they are walking. In addition to being a loving and nurturing mother to her own children, she extended her love to the children of others, caring for numerous children over the years and treating them as though they were her own. Her unconditional love and support of those near and dear to her live on. She is deeply, deeply missed. Funeral service was held at 2 pm on Monday May 27th at RD Family Funeral Chapel, Weyburn. Pastor Bryan Keough lovingly officiated her service. Interment followed at Hillcrest Cemetery, Weyburn. For family and friends so wishing, donations in memory of Doreen may be made to the Multiple Sclerosis Society of Canada, 150 Albert St, Regina, SK, S4R 2N2. Arrangements were entrusted to RD Family Funeral Chapel & Crematorium, Weyburn (306-848-0333 ~ 1-888-848-0333). Expressions of sympathy to the family may be sent to our website at www.rdfamilymemorialchapel.com "Our family serving your family"
