It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our dear mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister, Doreen Anne Bukowski. She is survived by her children, Doug and Peggy (McLeod) Bukowski of Calgary, AB and daughter, Sharon (Bukowski) and David Lethbridge of Salmon Arm, BC; grandchildren, Mark (Corinne) Obst, Aaron Obst, Lisa (Brent) Gacek and Cindi (Kevin) Garren; great grandchildren, Seth Obst, Kate and Liv Obst, Liam and London Gacek; brothers, Merv (June) Waddell and Gerald (Ann) Waddell and sister-in-law, Vi Lauder as well as numerous nephews and nieces. Doreen lived on the family farm and was a great help to her father by looking after the animals and running the combine during harvest. In 1945, her parents moved to Weyburn and Doreen began working at Safeway. Doreen and several other Safeway cashiers began to play softball and soon formed the Weyburn Beaverettes. Doreen curled for many years with the Weyburn Ladies Curling. Ted and Doreen were married on March 21, 1947. They lived on the Bukowski farm for a year and half and then moved to Cedoux where Ted worked at the Saskatchewan Wheat Pool Elevator. In 1956 they built a house in Weyburn and raised their two children, Doug & Sharon. To Doreen, family was paramount. If anyone in her family was in need, she was always there. Visitation was held Monday, March 7, from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Fletcher Funeral Chapel, Weyburn. The Funeral Service was held Tuesday, March 8, from Calvary Baptist Church, Weyburn, with Pastor Doug Loden officiating. Interment was held at Green Acres Memorial Gardens, Weyburn.
