Dora was born September 25, 1913 on the farm at Handsworth. In 1918 her father passed away and the family lived with her uncle Egbert Pocock. When her mother and stepfather moved to Nipawin, Dora moved to Winnipeg for a short time before returning to Handsworth. Dora married Thomas Dickie on March 24, 1942. They farmed in the Creelman district and retired into Creelman in 1973. After Tom passed away in 1986, Dora remained in Creelman for a few years, then moved to Stoughton to be closer to her sister Ivy. In February 2011 at the age of 96 she moved to Tatagwa View Care Home in Weyburn until her passing on March 20, 2014. She never complained, always putting the needs of others ahead of her own. She touched many lives and will be missed by all. A service of remembrance for Dora will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, April 12, at St. Andrew's United Church, Creelman with Rev. Ann White officiating. Interment to follow the service at Golden Gates Cemetery, Creelman. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Dora's memory to a charity of your choice.
