Derrell Raymond


We are deeply saddened with the passing of our brother, Derrell Raymond on April 14, 2012 at the age of 76 years after a long illness. Derrell was predeceased by his father and mother, Ivan and Irene Raymond; brother-in-law, Richard "Dick" Holland; nephews, Andrew Raymond and Joie Maas as well as numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. Derrell leaves to mourn, one brother, Dale Raymond and his children: Stacy Raymond (Gavin) of Weyburn, and Kristen Raymond (Lyle) and their daughter, Josie May; three sisters, Vada Holland and her sons: Allen Holland, Gary Holland and his children: Brittney and Jorden Holland of Creighton; Elaine (Elmer) Erixon of Weyburn, and their family: Sandra Maas and her children, Matthew and Erica; Ron Erixon (Loni Fanshaw) of Vernon, BC and his children: Dustin Erixon, Tammie Bowler and her children Dakota , Bailey and Ayva; Susan (Dale) Coad and their children: Marisa, Braden and Kylie Coad of Weyburn; Robert Erixon and his children: Ashley Bowers and Ryan Erixon of Medicine Hat, AB; Bonnie Bergdahl (Larry) of Moose Jaw, and children: James Bergdahl, Bradley Bergdahl and Brent (Heather) Bergdahl and their daughters: Karlee and Chelsea; Kimberly (Jeff) Downey and their children: Jayden and Sierra Downy as well as good friends, Mark Verity and Sandy Wyness. Derrell was born at Tisdale, on October 24, 1935. The family moved to Froude where he was raised and took his schooling. They again moved, this time to Weyburn in 1954. He worked at numerous jobs, S.V.R.C.C. and Weyburn Taxi in Weyburn, at West Bend, B.C for the CPR Railroad and he lived briefly in Regina. Derrell was a very generous person. When his dad passed away in 1989 he looked after his mom until she moved to S.V.R.C.C. He was always fixing things for people. Derrell enjoyed playing cribbage, going for coffee, playing bingo and going to auction sales. Derrell had a love for dogs, which he had a number of, including Grizzy and Lady. Usually when Derrell was seen walking, he had a dog with him. He moved to the Weyburn Special Care Home in January of 2012. A Graveside Service will be held Saturday April 28, 2012 at 3:00 P.M. from Hillcrest Cemetery with Reverend John Ferrier officiating.
