As we celebrate the life of Debora (Debbie) Lynne Jones (1968-2016), she will dance on forever in our hearts! Debbie grew up in Richmond, BC, graduating from Richmond Sr. High. Shortly afterwards, her first travel adventure was to backpack around Australia. Upon her return, Debbie worked for many years at IKEA. When the travel bug hit again, she was drawn to travel Europe, then settled in Germany for a number of years. It was here where she adopted her beautiful and talented daughter, Nina. Living abroad gave Debbie the opportunity to continue her travels to many foreign countries, all of which she held dear to her heart. In 2010, Debbie and Nina returned to Canada, bringing Jasper (their dog) with them. They chose to settle in Kelowna, BC, to be close to long-time friends, the Deane family — Jaime, Rob, Jordan, Jessania, and Jennika. Shortly after the Deane family moved to Saskatchewan, Debbie and Nina joined them — excited to experience prairie winters! Debbie soon found work at the Wholesale Club, and both her and Nina began to make new friends. Shortly after starting their new life, however, Debbie’s health began to decline. Then in the summer of 2016, independent testing indicated Lyme Disease. Unfortunately, though, Debbie passed away Sept. 18, 2016 in Calgary, AB, as she was returning from seeing a specialist in BC. Her daughter, Nina, and the Deane family were with her. Debbie was very grateful to and humbled by the many people who stepped up to help with her various needs, medical, financial, household, etc. In particular, she would want to extend her thanks to: Jaime Deane (friends since high school) and family – Rob, Jordan, Jessania, and Jennika; Colleen Marcotte, Rhonda Wall, and Teresa Sandeski; Third floor staff at Weyburn General Hospital; House 3 staff at Tatagwa View; Drs. A. Ejeckam, T. Bridgeman, and V. Pillay; Crystal Hutt, Christine McMorris, and their families; and also all the people in the City of Weyburn and surrounding area. But most of all, she would want to thank her precious daughter, Nina, for her unwavering love and support!! Debbie’s Celebration of Life Party will be held Sunday, Oct 2nd, 2016, 1:00-5:00 pm at Haig School Gym. The celebration time line: 1 :00-3:00 pm Pot Lunch and Social!
