Darlene “Dolly” Scrupps

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Dolly Scrupps at the age of 78. Dolly is survived by her children, Debbie (Rob) Wilson, Weyburn, SK;  Dawn (Jim) McFadden, Weyburn, SK; Tim (Anne) Scrupps, Fort QuAppelle, SK; Roy (Angie) Scrupps, Weyburn, SK; Nancy (Norm) Robson, Weyburn, SK; Rory (Wendy) Scrupps, Lacombe, AB;  15 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren; sister, Ann Olson; brothers, Ed (Elaine) Daer, Dave (Colette) Daer; sister in law, Merle Daer; brothers in law Fred, Maurice (Val) Scrupps of England and families  as well as numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.  Dolly was predeceased by her husband, Roy; parents, John and Eleanora Daer; a sister in infancy, Helen; brother, Bob Daer; brother in law, Elmer Olson; special aunt, Helen Daer; nieces, Sharon Olson; Andrea Daer.  Also, father and mother in law, William and Hilda Scrupps and sister in law, Mag Scrupps, all of England. Dolly and Roy spent their married life in Weyburn, Toronto, Edmonton then Weyburn again.  Dolly worked 20 years for Sun Country Health District.  At her retirement in 2002 she was the Food Service Supervisor for Souris Valley Extended Care Health facility.  Dolly was also a lifetime member of the Legion and convened many meals as a member of the Ladies Auxiliary.  She also enjoyed darts and getting together with friends at Weyburn Branch #47. Dolly had many interests and hobbies.  She loved cooking, gardening, painting, crafting and flea markets.  Her and Roy were also avid campers and spent many weekends camping with family and friends.  They later purchased a cabin at White Bear Lake Resort and spent many summers there enjoying the outdoors, Bear Claw Casino and of course the flea markets at the Red Barn.  She was a fashion conscious lady who had a love of shopping.  She was very young at heart and never afraid to try the latest trends. Dolly’s greatest pleasure in life was time spent with her family.   She will be greatly missed by all whose lives she touched.  A Private Family Gathering was held on Wednesday, February 10, 2016 at 10:30 a.m. from Fletcher Funeral Chapel, Weyburn, Saskatchewan.
