Cora "Mae" Kennedy passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 10 at the age of 82 years. Mae was born on October 11, 1930 in Kingston, Ontario to Wesley and Elizabeth (nee Spratt) Esford. Mae was raised in Ontario and received her formal education there. On January 20, 1940 she married Hartley Kennedy in Kingston. In 1967 Mae and Hartley moved to Saskatchewan and they made Weyburn their home. Mae began a career at Souris Valley Extended Care Hospital in the laundry department. On May 31, 1994 she would retire from this position. Mae enjoyed reading, crocheting, baking and spending time with her family. She was an active member of the Weyburn Free Methodist Church until 2004 when she moved to Balcarres to be close to her son. Mae was predeceased by her parents, Wesley and Elizabeth Esford; sisters, Doris Graham and Florence McFadden; brother, James Esford; sons, Hartley and William and husband, Hartley. Mae will be lovingly remembered by her son, Carman (Sandra) of Balcarres; grandchildren, Tina Kennedy and her children, Autumn, Dakota, Janessa and Dylan; Violet (Brad) Brock and children, Charity and Colton; Amanda Kennedy (Cole Seghers) and children, Chelsy and Keagan; Shane Kennedy; Keisha Kennedy and children, Natalia and Tylan; Tessa Jensen and son, Dominic; Tia Jensen and Russell Desjarlais (Tiffany) and children, Michael and Jessiah as well as many nieces, nephews and friends. A funeral service was held on Monday, July 15 at 2:00 PM from Weyburn Free Methodist Church with Pastor Jay Mowchenko officiating. Interment took place at Green Acres Memorial Gardens, Weyburn. Pallbearers were, Shane Kennedy, Trent Berg, Leo Racette, Russell Dejarlais, Cole Seghers and Carman Kennedy.
