Cliff was born in Weyburn on April 18, 1938. He attended school at Riverview and Lowland. Cliff farmed with his father for several years and then went to work on the oil rigs around Weyburn for a few years. Cliff moved to Kitimat, B.C. where he worked in the aluminum smelter plant for the winter. He returned to Weyburn and again worked on the oil rigs and for the PFRA and rented some farm land, this was the beginning of farming on his own. On February 4, 1961 he married Kathleen Haack. They continued to farm and raise their family. They enjoyed being part of the great community of south Weyburn, where they developed great friends and relationships that lasted a life time. Dad and Mom enjoyed spending time with friends and family, travelling and playing cards. In 1999, they retired and moved to Weyburn. "You can take the boy off the farm, but you can't take the farm out of the boy." Truer words were never spoken as Dad continued to take regular trips out to the farm to help in any way that he could. Over the years Dad had many interests and hobbies such as: harness racing, tractor pulls, restoring old tractors, collecting toy tractors and playing cards. In the last couple of years, Dad was fortunate enough to have a special friend, June Matters. They enjoyed each other's company, travelling together and playing cards. June held a special place in his heart. A Graveside Funeral Service was held at Hillcrest Cemetery, Weyburn with Rev. John Ferrier officiating.
