Charles Vernon Leach (Vern), late of Weyburn, passed away peacefully on November聽 20,2016聽 at the age of 92 years. Vern was predeceased by his wife Bette; parents: Charles and Mary Anne Leach; sisters: Helen (Vic) Szakacs, Isabel Sullivan, Lorna (Peck) Glover; brother Fred (Shelby) Leach; niece Denise (Alex) Kerr and nephew Brent Leach. Vern leaves to celebrate his life: children Wendy Leach, Dean Leach (Eileen Packet), Dawne (Len) Gunderson; six granddaughters: Breanne (Tino), Megan, Danika, Calene (Justin), Dena (Andrew), and Erin (Shawn); great grandchildren: Kayden and Emslie; extended families: Jacelyn (Chris), Julianne (Todd) and their children; as well as numerous nephews, nieces, relatives and friends. Vern was raised and farmed near Colfax. He married Bette Hill in 1947 and raised three children. They moved off the farm to Weyburn in 1980 enjoying golf and curling and continued to farm until 1991 with Dean and his family. Dad and Mom had wonderful memories with the Hennies, Hills, Schneiders, Hubicks, and many close friends. The family would like to extend special thanks to Parkway Lodge and their caring staff, Dr. Beheshti and the nursing staff at the Weyburn General Hospital for their care and attention. A Celebration of Life for Vern was held Friday, November 25, at 2:00 p.m. from the Grace United Church, Weyburn, with Reverend M. Barnabas officiating. Honorary Pallbearers were all in attendance. A private family interment took place at Hillcrest Cemetery, Weyburn, with lunch following at Grace Upper Hall, Weyburn.
