It is with deep sadness that the family of Charlie announces his passing at the age of 81 years. Charlie leaves behind to mourn him Margaret, his wife of 61 years; four children, Charlene (Bill), Brian (Wendy), Michael (Sandy) and Joann (Brent), as well as many grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his sister Eleanor and brother Gerald. Charlie left his home town of Weyburn in 1955 and began a lengthy career with the Department of Transport, specializing in firefighting on airfields. After being posted in Calgary, Whitehorse and Saskatoon, finally settling in Edmonton in 1965. He was the registrar of the Canadian Athletic Club and a longstanding member of the Knights of Columbus through the Annunciation Parish. Charlie will be missed for his sense of humor, practical jokes and willingness to lend a hand. Reverend Martin Pasala will celebrate a Mass of Christian Burial on Thursday, September 12 at 1:00 p.m. at Annunciation Catholic Church, 9420 - 163 St., Edmonton, AB.
