With sadness we announce the passing of our father and grandfather, Carl Griep, June 3, 2014. He was born to Emil and Isadora Griep, July 1, 1922 in Creelman. Carl was predeceased by his wife, Bernice (Blackmer); his parents, Emil and Isadora (Smith) Griep; sister and brother-in-law, Helen and Hubert Lackey; his mother- and father-in-law, Dan and Ethel Blackmer; brothers-in-law, Jim Blackmer, Dan Blackmer and James Hird; sister-in-law, Edna Blackmer and nephew, Michael Blackmer. He is survived by his children, Carol (Ken) Hubich, John (Kim) Griep, and Colleen (Randy) Foss; his grandchildren, Erin Hubich, Mark (Bae SeulGi) Hubich, Derek (Eunah) Foss, Amy and Allie (Adam) Foss, Tia, Skye, Dylan and Kiana Griep; and great grandchildren, Avry Bowers and Dasoni Hubich; sisters-in-law, Arlene Blackmer and Maxine Hird and nieces, Doreen Holyoak and Sandra (Ernie) Gerry. For most of his life, he lived in the community he loved and farmed the land so dear to his heart. He treasured the long standing friendships he had over the years. We would like to thank Dr. Fong, Dr. Lenferna, the staff of Weyburn General Hospital, Weyburn Special Care Nursing Home, and Tatagwa View Nursing Home for the excellent care given. A special thank you to all at Liberty Manor who made him feel so at home while he was there. Donations in memory of Carl may be made to St. Andrew's United Church Fund Creelman or Creelman Golden Gates Cemetery. A private memorial service will take place at a later date.
