Caralyn Mae Reid passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 3, 2016 at the age of 69 years. She was predeceased by her father, John Reid and brother, Joseph Reid. Caralyn was born on April 11, 1946 to John and Evelyn Reid and as a young girl battled polio while living in Serpent River. Caralyn also spent time in northern Ontario on St. Joseph’s Island and then raised her two children in Sault Ste. Marie. Caralyn then journeyed west to Calgary, AB. She eventually moved to Weyburn where she lived for the last ten years. Caralyn has been the superintendent for the cottages at Crocus Plains Villa where she had made many friends over the years. Caralyn loved to cook and shared what she made with her neighbours and friends. Her homemade soups were one of their favourites. In her spare time Caralyn loved to go fishing and birding as well as gardening. Caralyn’s friendly caring nature and helpfulness will be missed by many. Her family wishes to thank Dr. Mary McCollam and the nurses at the Weyburn General Hospital for the excellent care given to Caralyn. Caralyn will be lovingly remembered by her mother, Evelyn Reid of Elliot Lake, ON; son, Mark Adcock of Weyburn; granddaughter, Kenisha Adcock of Sault Ste. Marie, ON; daughter, Terry-Lynn Furlong of Ingersoll, ON; grandson, Dustin Furlong of Ingersoll, ON; sisters, Lisa Comeau and Rhonda Reid; brother, Thomas Reid as well as other relatives and many good friends. A Memorial Service was held on Friday, January 8, at 2:00 p.m. from Fletcher Funeral Chapel, Weyburn with Reverend M. Barnabas officiating.
