Bryan Allen Towne passed away Sunday March 9, 2014 at his home in Halbrite. Bryan was born March 19, 1938 on the family farm in the Midale district. He was the youngest of four children. Bryan was predeceased by his parents Henry and Mabel Towne, his sisters Lorraine Towne and Arlyne Lawson (Towne), brother Douglas, brother-in-law Doug Lawson and nephews Brent Lawson and Gavin Lawson. He is survived by his niece Tazma Beach (Lawson), her husband Warren and their family. Brent's wife Nadia Lawson and their children. He is also survived by his special friend Liz Duncan and her family. Bryan attended public and high school in Halbrite. After graduating high school, Bryan worked in the oilfield for a number of years, and was the Town Forman at Halbrite for 21 years until he retired. Bryan was a shy, quiet, soft spoken man of few words. He was an avid photographer, who printed and developed his own works. He had a special interest in reprinting old historical photos. He often built his own frames out of barn board. Bryan also loved woodworking and created many unique, beautiful projects which he shared freely with family and friends. Bryan enjoyed all things mechanical and could make or repair almost anything to running condition. He kept up with modern technology and after acquiring a computer he became very proficient at navigating and operating it. Bryan enjoyed learning! Camping, fishing and hunting were pastimes he enjoyed as well. Bryan loved animals, and had two cats that he treated like royalty. He also enjoyed bird watching. He had a healthy intrigue and love of all things around him. Bryan enjoyed travelling and exploring new things. He especially enjoyed his trip to Scotland with Liz Duncan, and also trips to Hawaii with his family. Above Bryan's couch and in his yard he proudly displayed Saskatchewan Roughrider flags. He was a huge fan and never missed watching a game. As Bryan's health declined it became his wish to remain in his home. Fortunately he was able to do that. At Bryan's request there will be no formal funeral. He will be laid to rest at Green Acres Memorial Gardens, Weyburn in the spring in the Towne family plots. Arrangements were entrusted to RD Family Funeral Chapel & Crematorium, Weyburn (306-848-0333 ~ 1-888-848-0333).
