Blaine is now entertaining friends that passed away before him; he loved being the life of the party and telling tall tales with his booming voice. His parents Wally and Eva are among those happy to hear his stories again. Blaine was born and raised in Weyburn, where his confident personality and big voice propelled him toward radio and television as an announcer. His entrepreneurial spirit lead him to a career in real estate (in Saskatoon where he met his bride Marcy) and later into land development in Calgary and Edmonton, AB, and Victoria, BC. He is survived by his wife of 50 loving years, Marcy (Axford); his children Heather, Christy (Mack Benson Aguirre), Laura (Donald Leblanc), grandchildren Carmen and Lucas as well as his brother’s family in Calgary, Gerry (Roma) and nieces Tammy (Ron Belleville), Dana (Cam Schultz). He loved meeting people and relished many Alberta summers sailing. He enjoyed numerous hobbies like painting, photography and golfing; his later interests included model railroads, fly-fishing, and RV-ing with his fifth-wheel. Many friends came from his devotion to coffee time at Tim Horton’s.Blaine will forever be remembered for his laugh, larger than life story telling, warm smile and loving support. Condolences may be offered to the family at www.earthsoption.com. A Celebration of Life will be held Sunday, April 16, 2:00-4:00 p.m. at Windsor Pavilion, 2451 Windsor Road, Victoria, B.C.
