(Babe) Gertrude Isabel Lavonne Bannatyne, late of Weyburn and formerly Estevan, passed away peacefully Sunday, June 19, 2016 at the age of 101 years. She was 鈥渢he babe鈥� when she came into the world and she was 鈥淏abe鈥� to all, a century later, when she left it. Babe was a marvel in so many ways to all of us. Her kindness and grace, her humour and humility, and a zest for and joy in life that was simply unmatched. She will be missed greatly, but we are happy she is now finally reunited with her beloved husband Dave. Babe is lovingly remembered by her sons David Bannatyne of Weyburn; son Nairn (Donalda) Bannatyne of Kelowna, BC and daughter Jo-Anne Bannatyne-Cugnet (Kenney-deceased) of Weyburn; grandchildren Nairn Jr. (Michelle) Rob (Sarah), Danny (Tana), Craig, Tim (Leyna), Matt (Jenn); great grandchildren Rudy, Sophia, Declan, David, Isabelle, Kingston, Kensington, George, Josie, Thomas; and numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends who all adored her. She made it so easy to adore her! A Memorial Service will be held Monday, July 11, at 11:00 AM from the Grace United Church Weyburn, with Rev. M. Barnabas officiating. Interment will follow in Estevan City Cemetery. Donations in memory of Babe may be made to the 鈥淩esidents Fund鈥� at Hilltop Manor or Weyburn & District Hospital Foundation.
