Arnold Charles Treble passed away peacefully January 16, 2014 at the age of 100. Arnold was born November 1, 1913 in the Huronville District to Charles and Agnes (Lane) Treble and has been a life-long resident of the Fillmore area. Arnold attended Huronville School and lived in Fillmore while finishing high school. He earned his Agriculture degree at the University of Saskatchewan in 1949. He gained employment with the Assessment Branch of the Saskatchewan Department of Municipal Affairs and worked there until his retirement in 1978. Arnold was predeceased by his loving wife Margaret (Eadie) Henderson Treble 1999. He is survived by his sister Blanche Randall of Indian Head; niece Bev Royer (Yvon) and children Travis and Jenessa of Delta, BC; Orley and Melvina Treble of Fillmore. On October 3, 1963 Arnold married Margaret (Eadie) Henderson. They were happily married for 36 years until her passing in October 1999. He continued living in his home in Fillmore until moving into the Fillmore Health Centre in July 2010. Arnold was always active in the community. He played baseball, coached minor ball, supported the United Church and the museum. He was an avid collector of antiques and loaned several items to the Fillmore museum. Arnold was made a lifetime member of the Fillmore Lions Club and on the occasion of his 100th birthday, he was presented with a plaque from the International Lions Club. Arnold was a well respected gentleman, with an amazing memory, particularly of Huronville days. He was a great humanitarian, and generous with his time and resources. Arnold was a lover of nature and always missed his Marg. He enjoyed curling, golfing and playing cards. After his 100th birthday party he chose to play cards with his family rather than eating supper! Special thanks to Dr. Gibbons and all the staff at the Fillmore Health Centre for the past four years of care. A Memorial Service for Arnold will be held on Saturday, February 1, 2014 at the Grace United Church, Fillmore at 2:00 pm with Ann White officiating. Interment to follow at Fillmore Cemetery.
