Anna is also survived by two sisters, Monica Szostak and Margaret Allen, and many nieces and nephews. Anna was born at Talmage in 1921. She spent her early years on the family farm and attended school at Cedoux, before the family moved to Regina where she finished high school and attended normal school to become a teacher. Anna taught at a number of rural schools before arriving at Heward School where she met Ernie Eckert, whom she later married. Except for a short time as teacher at La Salette country school, Anna became a hard working farm wife, coping with livestock, garden, canning, children and all other parts of farm life until they retired in 1983. She was part of the C.W.L., and in later years volunteered with the Terry Fox Run and the Donor's Choice appeal. Prayers were held on Sunday, March 24 at 7:00 p.m. with Sr. Jacqueline Lussier officiating. Funeral mass was celebrated on Monday, March 25 at 2:00 p.m. by Rev. Leonardo Tamayo Jr. Both services were held at Our Lady of La Salette R.C. Church, Forget. Interment took place in the parish cemetery. The family wishes to extend special, great thanks to Monica and all the staff at Newhope Pioneer Lodge for their kind care of Anna in her last years. Friends who so wish may make a donation in Anna's name to the Newhope Lodge Activities Fund, Stoughton, or to Our Lady of La Salette Church memorial fund, Forget.
