Anna Caroline Wilkinson passed away peacefully on August 7, 2012 in the Weyburn Hospital at the age of 98 years. Anna was born in Woodly. She is predeceased by her husband Percy, sister Mary, and brothers Rudy and Freddie. She is survived by her special family, Geoff and Margaret Minter, lifelong pen pal Ruth Carfield in Pennsylvania, USA, Wes and Ruby Schultz, Weyburn, and many other friends and relatives in Saskatchewan, Manitoba and the USA. Anna moved to Elm Creek, MB. During World War II, she worked in an aircraft factory in Winnipeg, MB where she met and married Percy. After the war they farmed in the Elm Creek area. She enjoyed curling and was very active in the church. When her husband passed away in 1979, Anna moved back to Weyburn. Anna was very proud to be a Canadian and promoted Canada everywhere she went. She was also a proud and loyal member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Weyburn Branch. She was chosen by the Royal Canadian Legion, Weyburn Branch as their "War Mother" for 2011. She also made hundreds of blankets, dolls, etc., which she gave to family and friends. Respecting Anna's wishes, a cremation has taken place. In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to the Zion Lutheran Church, Weyburn. Arrangements are entrusted to RD Family Funeral Chapel in Weyburn.
