Alvern Claydeen Hoimyr, late of Lake Alma, passed away December 9, 2014, at the age of 87 years. Alvern was predeceased by his parents Albert and Gertie Hoimyr; brother Hollis (Bernice) Hoimyr; brothers-in-law: Roy Johnson, Gary Johnson, Peter Johnson; sister-in-law Alice Johnson. Alvern is survived by his wife of 67 years Pearl; son Lyle (Judy) Hoimyr and their children: Mark (Laura) Hoimyr [Anna and Jeremy], Tannis (Derek), Axten [Kate and Brock] Lee Ann (Ivan) Odland [Shawn, Tyler, Darren and Abby]; son Randy (Roberta) Hoimyr and their children: Jared and Kimberly; daughter Cheryl Hoimyr; son Wade (Melanie) Hoimyr and their children: Michelle and Wyatt; sisters: Donna (Marshall) Stainbrook and Delores Johnson; brother Glen (Yvonne) Hoimyr; brothers-in-law: Lawrence Johnson and Dennis Johnson; sister-in-law Elaine Johnson as well as numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. A memorial service for Alvern was held on Tuesday, December 16, at 1:00 p.m. from Zion Lutheran Church, Weyburn, with Pastor Martin Olson, officiating. Lunch followed the service. Interment was held following the lunch at Saron Cemetery, Lake Alma.
