Alma B. Pearson passed away at Tatagwa View, Weyburn, on Wednesday, January 9, 2013 at the age of 86 years. Alma was predeceased by her husband, Lorne Pearson; her father and mother, John and Gertie Gordon; siblings, Fred, Truman and Clarence; sister and brother-in-law, May and Otto Block; brother and sister-in-law, Walter and Jean Johnson; nephew, Howard Block and special friend, Erna Wanner. Alma will be lovingly remembered by her sons, Don (Fay), Larry and Daryl Pearson; grandchildren, Jeanette (Tony) Nilsson, Angelina (Tony) Palmer, Patty (Ryan) Skjerdal and Riley (Sarah) Pearson; great grandchildren, Jacob Nilsson, Tia and Teagan Palmer and Leslie Pearson; nephew, Allan (Paulette) Block and their families. Alma was born at Ratcliffe, on February 17, 1926 to John and Gertie Gordon. She attended school at Round Grove School District, Tribune and the Moose Jaw Normal School, graduating as a teacher. Her first teaching posting was to the Waverly Rural School, northeast of Yellow Grass. In 1949 she married Lorne Pearson. Alma was a Sunday School teacher, involved with the Waverly Ladies Aid, and was kept busy with the usual activities of raising a family and helping on the farm. Thank you to the staff of Tatagwa View (House 3) for the years of devoted care given to Alma. A Service of Remembrance was held Monday, January 14, at 2:00 p.m. from Grace United Church with Reverend M. Barnabas officiating. Interment will be held at a later date.
