Alfred Douglas Taylor

It is with much sadness that we announce the passing of our father, grandfather and great grandfather Alfred Douglas Taylor, a lifetime resident of Ogema, who passed away peacefully at the Regina General Hospital on Monday, October 15, 2012 at the age of 89 years. He was predeceased by his parents Alfred and Mabel; and his brother-in-law Charlie Miller. Doug is survived by his sons Garfield (Connie) and Grant (Marie), both of Regina; grandson Jeremie (Jada); great granddaughters Zoe, Abbigail and Mackenzie all of Grenfell; sister Lottie Miller of Victoria, B.C.; and nephews Roy (Jane) and their family and Alf. Doug led a wonderful life with many accomplishments that surviving family and friends will remember with pride long after his passing. He was born on his parents' farm near Ogema on April 13, 1923. He served his country in World War II, at a young age enlisting in the Royal Canadian Air Force. After the war he returned to Ogema to settle on his hometown and became postmaster until his retirement. He received his diploma in technical electronics repair as a hobby and also farmed, enjoyed hunting, fishing, woodworking and computers. A private family service and interment will take place in his hometown of Ogema at a later date. In lieu of sorrow for Doug's passing we should rather thank God that such a man has lived. Arrangements entrusted to Regina Funeral Home (306) 789-8850.
