RADVILLE - Tourism Radville staged its 14th annual Heritage Day at the historic CN railway station on Saturday, with a wide variety of activities and attractions for families to enjoy.
The fields next to the CN station were filled with a large show-and-shine car show, a barbecue started up at noon, and the live music shortly after that.
The day began with a "Race for a Reason", a wheelchair race from the Radville Marian Health Centre down Main Street to the CN station, with the goal to raise money for the health centre. Two heats were run of four teams each, and the Radville Senior Nats team placed first, followed by the E. Bourassa team, the Little Second Hand Store in third and the Class of '84 in fourth.
The Radius Credit Union then held a bike parade in front of their location on Main Street, with prizes and goodie bags for all the participants.
At the CN Station and grounds, there were activities such as rope-making, face-painting, museum tours and kids games on going, in addition to live music from Doug Bella and Steve Blackmore, and from James Dionne.
The pie contest winners were announced mid-afternoon, followed by the pie auction, and then awards were presented.
