ESTEVAN - The annual Fountain Tire Barrel X competition is happening at the Estevan Exhibition grounds during the Saskatchewan Day long weekend.
More than 100 barrel racers are entered between the open and youth divisions. Some of the young riders are competing with the adults in the open class.
The racing began Sunday morning and will continue throughout the day. Pole bending will be at 5:30 p.m. Sunday evening, and the annual Hooves versus Hawgs competition is at 7:30 p.m.
Hooves versus Hawgs pits horses against motorcycles in what is traditionally a popular showdown.
The barrel racing will resume Monday at 9 a.m. and wrap up later in the day.
