The Carlyle RCMP detachment responded to several calls from Thursday, June 7 to the morning of Thursday, June 14, one of which was a single-vehicle rollover involving a tractor-trailer which took place at the junction of Hwys 9 and 13, near Carlyle.
听听听听听听听听听听听 Staff Sgt. Darren Simons of the Carlyle detachment has received numerous media enquiries regarding the accident, especially with regards to members of the public visiting and/or photographing incidents such as these. He says: 鈥淢embers of our detachment responded to the accident along with Carlyle Fire & Rescue and local EMS. We ask members of the public not to interfere with the work of first responders.鈥
听听听听听听听听听听听 鈥淚f you see a collision down the road, please detour to avoid it if you can. Otherwise, you might get stuck in traffic or worse, you might see something you never want to see again,鈥 Simons explains.
听听听听听听听听听听听 鈥淏ut most importantly, if you are an onlooker at the scene of a motor vehicle accident, you are potentially putting all of the attending emergency personnel and witnesses at risk, by causing traffic jams or impeding the ability of an ambulance to arrive or depart from the scene.鈥

听听听听听听听听听听听 Carlyle RCMP - along with Carlyle Fire & Rescue and local EMS - responded to a semi-trailer rollover at the junction of Hwys 9 and 13 south, near Carlyle on Tuesday, June 12.
听听听听听听听听听听听 聽The driver of the tractor-trailer suffered minor injuries and Staff Sgt. Simons says: 鈥淎 more serious incident could have occurred had it not been for the defensive driving of the other driver in the intersection.鈥

听听听听听听听听听听听 An individual faces several charges under Canada's Criminal Code after they triggered a hit and run investigation involving a work truck. While impaired, this person took a vehicle without consent and became involved in an accident. This person faces the following Criminal Code charges: taking a vehicle without consent, impaired driving, hit and run, and refusing to provide a breath sample.
听听听听听听听听听听听 RCMP responded to a report of three intoxicated males walking on Hwy 9 near Kenosee Lake by a caller who was concerned for the mens' safety. Members returned two of the men safely to their homes, while the third was lodged in police cells until sober.

A subsequent search by warrant of a residence in Arcola resulted in the discovery of illegal drugs. Police were aided in their search by an RCMP dog handler and sniffer dog from Regina.
