On May 18, the Weyburn Police Service honoured a man for helping to save a life and presented him with a certificate of appreciation for his quick response. This individual was Brendon Gall, a former Wawota resident. Brendon had recognized that a person had overdosed in the washroom and was unconscious, and alerted 911. Brendon exemplified genuine concern and took impressive and safe action during an emergency situation.

Congratulations to James and Karissa Mills on the birth of their son on May 5. He was named Liam Ardyn and he is a brother for Jay. He is also a grandson for Brian and Darci Mills and Al and Sheryl Brabant (White City). Great-grandparents are Doug and Carol Howarth, Ron De Yong (Regina) and great-great grandmother is Dorothy Mieltz of Moosomin .

The Town of Wawota provided Shear Edge Hair Studio to today’s celebration of economic development, as an example of a success story in their community. Marley Hamilton opened the business in 2019 and has been doing hair since 2006. Many other services are offered such as massage therapy and cosmetic services. A variety of gifts are also available.
