Congratulations to Dale Easton and the Save Our Beds committee. You made an excellent presentation explaining what has happened, and what has not happened in the continuous struggle to save beds at Deer View. It was good to see the large crowd, many of whom expressed their discontent. I felt Dr Plewes explanation of how greatly the bed closures have impacted on the situation at Moosomin Health Care Centre really brought out the fact that this is very serious, this is not just a battle of wills, but proof that a great injustice is taking place before our eyes. Do we have to continue to stand by and take the abuse handed down by the acting CEO, and the chair? Do their board members actually have a voice? What has happened to Democracy? Why is a board that is supposedly representing the public is no way accountable to the public? How can they glibly give false statements to their superiors who believe them? One would expect people in their positions to have some conscience, some compassion.
Regarding Marga's "Look at me" articles in 27,000 papers, it all sounds great, and if things really worked like that we wouldn't be in this great distress at Deer View. It makes one wonder if that was in the budget?
