Play park is not a public restroom

I'm writing this letter in regards to what I witnessed at the public play park on Monday, June 12 at 10:30 in the morning.

While walking with my children to the big play structure, a grandma with her grandchild, while playing at the park, pointed out to me three spots where there were human feces. One on the ice cream stand ledge where little kids like to play, two other spots under the large play structure in the sand. I was so disgusted. I told my kids it was time to leave. I walked straight to the town office to inform them that the public park was in need of cleaning.

If it was a young child, I would hope that the parents would teach him/her to use a toilet instead of a common play area as one. If it was an older, unsupervised child, I would hope that he/she would know better not to use the playground where he/she plays as a toilet and that his/her parents would know where their children were and what they were doing.

The person responsible for this should be ashamed and the parents should be embarrassed that his/her child is doing this.

If this is a teenager thinking that this is funny, it's not, absolutely not! Someday you may be a parent and I assure you, you won't want to take your child to a public park with human feces either.

I personally think that the playground should be locked at night.
