Late June and early July brought us different things weather-wise. We had heat, a couple of good showers, and of course, our typical Saskatchewan wind. This sure helped to make our courtyard more beautiful and the gardens grow.
There are tiny cucumbers, tomato blossoms, lettuce and radishes. We also got to see the 2021 Maryfleld High School grad class parade. Since COVID-19, graduating classes have had to think of something other than the usual.
Well Maryfield's was unique, it started off with a low flying plane leaving a trail of red vapor and it made several passes. They were then led by the fire department and ambulance and then two flat beds with the grads dressed in their fine attire. I'm sure those grads will never forget the year of the parade with a fly by. Congratulations on a job well done.
We have exciting news that on July 11 we may be able to come to some normalcy in a near normal world. Hoping to travel, visit and receive more entertainment and visitors soon. They all say good things come to those who wait – well, we're waiting.
When I heard of the devastating loss of homes and a town, I counted my blessings that I lived in an air controlled building and didn't even have to go outside if I didn't want to. July 1 took me back to my school days. Janet, a former teacher, played O Canada at noon, and on cue from Fred, we stood and sang, and it made us feel good to do something positive.
There is much activity around our building as they are putting sidewalks all the way around the perimeter and won't that be nice. We will be able to strengthen our legs. Other than that things went along as usual and we’re counting the days until I can write more positives.
